eSMS: Electronic SMS Software Built for Part 135 Operators

eSMS is a web-based Safety Management System that runs every part of 14 CFR Part 5 in one place — from a pilot's first hazard report to the closed corrective action an FAA inspector wants to see. It's designed for small and mid-size Part 135 operators who need a real SMS without hiring a safety department.

How a Safety Report Moves Through eSMS

  1. STEP 1Report.

A pilot or employee files a three-step hazard report from a phone, tablet or computer. Flight details autofill from myFLIGHTDATA.

  2. STEP 2Assess.

The safety officer reviews the report and scores the risk on an interactive 5×5 risk matrix.

  3. STEP 3Control.

Corrective actions are assigned with an owner, due date and status. Residual risk is assessed after controls.

  4. STEP 4Follow up.

Each event is either monitored for effectiveness or closed, with the reason recorded.

  5. STEP 5Communicate.

The reporter and staff are told what was done and why.

Example only: a report scored 3D on the likelihood × severity matrix.

Why Operators Choose eSMS

  • Built by compliance people. eSMS was designed by an FAA compliance consultant and checked against Part 5, AC 120-92B and FAA Order 8900.1.
  • Pilots will actually use it. Short forms, autofilled flight data and plain language mean more reports and better data.
  • Evidence on demand. When the FAA asks for proof your SMS is working, you pull a report instead of digging through binders.
  • Matches your manual. Paired with an SMS manual from our partner ACCG, your written procedures and your software say the same thing.
  • Non-punitive by design. Reporting screens reinforce your non-punitive safety reporting policy.

Works With myFLIGHTDATA

If you schedule with myFLIGHTDATA, eSMS already knows your aircraft, crews and legs. Aircraft are assigned once, at scheduling, and carry into every safety report automatically. No double entry.
